i don't know much about fisheye lenses (i'm actually thinking about getting one soon so let me know what you decide!) but i have the 70-200 L f/4.0 series lens and I am just obsessed with it. it always makes portraits so soft, and action photos are in such good focus. It's fast and quiet and it's pretty light too which is nice. It's never let me down and I would recommend it to anyone. Most of the photos in my gallery are shot with it.

thanksss :] it is a lense that I have actually had my eye on, but what i've been eyeing more then the lense is the PRICE
I have this lens too - 70-200 L f/4.0 and it is AMAZING.

What lenses do you have?
I dont even know. whatever lense my 40D came with 28-135mm?? I dunno
How much zoom do you have now? I have a 28-105 zoom and it isn't enough for my taste. For zoom I'd look into a 300mm. They have ones that start at about $200, but that is a basic lens.

yeah it's pricey, but it's the best you can buy for that amount. i think if you buy one that costs less you're just going to be unhappy and want to buy a new one anyway. I think it's better to just wait and save up some more and then get something you will be happy with and not want to replace. Plus they hold their value very well which is why it's near impossible to find a used one for any less!

yeah that would be awesome! and if you really like that one, you might want to consider it as an option too.

Yes, how much zoom do you already have? I love my Dad's 70-200 f/2.8 with IS for any action type shots outdoors, although for outdoor work you prbably could do fine with an f/4.0. I also have a 28-105 but find it's not quite enough for my liking. Also - if you're going to go with 200 or more zoom you really should get IS. It costs more, but saves you from a crapload of blurry pictures.

Renegade - is your 28 - 105 a Tamron?
